Rhubarb images are found everywhere (well, lots of places anyway). Here are links to the places that have kind enought to grant me permission to use their rhubarb images (email addresses have been edited to keep the spambots out).

Feel free to use all you want. When I have time I will try and get some more rhubarb images up for you. They are public domain on purpose. They aren’t the greatest as most were digitized first about two years ago when digitizers were not as good. I make them available for whomever is struggling to keep going.

Good Luck — will look at the site and link it tomorrow.

Dear Dan,

Very interesting site. As told some days ago, I’ve spoken with the Company direction. I’m proud to say to you that you can use that images. Obviously, they mustn’t be used against Zucca Rabarzucca S.p.A. itself, or its products. Otherwise, we surely appreciate a positive citation in your pages.

Thanks in advance, sincerely your…
Greetings from Leonardo

Dan, I’m sure that would be fine. I will forward this to our agronomic department,   but I can’t see why they would not allow you to use their photo. Proceed with your page and link and if there is any changes, I will notify you.

Thanks!

Dan,

You are correct. I mislabeled my weevil. This weevil is not a Boll Weevil. I do believe this is in fact the weevil you are looking for…Lixus concavus. Let me explain. Properly speaking Rhubarb curculio is not a correct scientific name. Lixus concavus is the Rhubarb Weevil. The Rhubarb Weevil is similar to the Boll Weevil and Pine Weevil but it is larger (1/2”-3/8” for the Rhubarb weevil -vs- 1/4” for the boll and pine weevils). I am about 99.9% sure that the picture in question is indeed a Rhubarb Weevil and not a Boll Weevil. I usually do not misidentify with scientific names, but common names are a dime a dozen. If I were you go to the library and get some entomology books or other insect books to make your final decision. I am not an entomologist either, it is just a hobby. I am, like I said previously almost positive my picture is a rhubarb weevil. So much so that I have changed the name on my web page. Thank you for bringing this to my attention as well as I hope you can benefit. The Boll weevil is Anthonomus grandis. Feel free to use my picture if you need…

Good Luck -Jamie
